"Eleanor Rigby"

One of the songs from our symphony show called Sgt Pepper's Lonely Bluegrass Band.

"Here Comes the Sun"

One of my favorite George Harrison songs played with my good friend Brian Magnus on cello. How did he (George) come up with that guitar intro? Just a typical moment of Beatle inspiration I guess. I love the message of better things ahead.

"Right On Time"

A song I wrote about my grandfather a few years ago. It's about getting old and that being ok. He was a great man who saw life as simple. I try to remember that and whittle a few things out of my own life when I think of him. Kind of driving that gently swerving line myself.

"Here's To You"

There's nothing more valuable than a friend. I've been fortunate to have a lot. I wrote this song about two of those friends. My best friend Mark Dinwiddie from when we were 12-14. And Bob Magee, a mentor of mine who had a huge impact on a lot of young people's lives including mine (when I was young). After about 40 years, I was trying to reconnect with Mark when I heard that he had passed away. It kills me that we never got to visit and reminisce. We definitely had some stories. I had just had lunch with Bob shortly before he died. We had a great time. My advice? Find your old friends while you can. Could there be anything better?

"This Joy That I Have"

I don't think of myself as a religious person, and generally don't get along with religious type people. But I do love the hymns and the simple honesty and truth they proclaim. There is a Joy that the world didn't give and the world can't take away! You can feel it when Marsha Carther sings it- yeah!

"Amazing Grace"

Amazing Grace with my friend Ronnie Mays. Ronnie is a special guy who although he doesn't have much, feeds and clothes the homeless every 2nd Saturday on a vacant lot just south of Fair Park in Dallas. You can see God's Amazing Grace in Ronnie's life, and feel it in his voice-
